THINGS TO DO
Frida Kahlo House- book tickets in advance!
Museo de Arte Moderno- modern art museum (they also have a Frida on display)
Floating Gardens of Xochimilco- about an hour drive away, but a fun afternoon activity. Takes up a full afternoon, so plan accordingly!
Chapultepec Park- beautiful to walk through, but there’s also several museums in the park
Chapultepec Castle (located in the park)- this was one of my favorite things we did! The architecture is everything.
Teotuhuacan Pyramids- we didn’t have time, but it’s the top of my list for the next trip!
Hot Air Balloon Ride over Teotuhuacan- also didn’t have time, but top of my list!

SHOPPING
Calle Colima (Colima Street) has a TON of shopping! We basically walked up and down that street and then branched out to some other streets nearby. All of these stores are within walking distance, so make an afternoon of it! There are also a ton of markets with various vendors scattered about. Just walk around and you’ll be sure to find some cool spots!
Back to Life- vintage
Vintage HOE- vintage
HI-BYE- vintage
Audette- purses
Goodbye Folk- vintage (my personal favorite! 3 floors of goodies!)
Irene Buffa- vintage designer
Mercado de Artesania- market
Revolver Vintage- vintage
Metate- home
180 Shop- clothing & accessories
Altiva México- clothing & home
Zii Ropa- clothing
Massimo Dutti- in the mall, but super chic things

NEIGHBORHOODS
Based on what you want to do on your trip, chose a centrally located neighborhood. We chose Roma Norte (as did most of the tourists we met), but there are other options if you want to branch out- the two we considered the most were:
Roma Norte- centrally located, walkable to great restaurants and activities, we felt very safe here
Polanco- upscale, luxury shopping/ dining
HOTELS
I’ve only been to Mexico City once, but I am obsessed with the hotel we stayed in and needed to mention it in here. We stayed at the Volga Hotel (a Michelin Star hotel) and it went above and beyond my expectations. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, we had welcome pastries sent to our room, the meals were all divine, and the hotel is beautiful. There’s also live music every night in the lobby that you can hear from your room and a speakeasy on the bottom floor. Breakfast is included as well (and this is no ordinary breakfast). A 10/10 stay!
Michelin Star has so many boutique hotels on their website that all look absolutely amazing- and they are actually pretty affordable too. Definitely check them out when looking for a place to stay (that is, if Volga is sold out ;)).

That’s a wrap on my Mexico City Guide! A truly magnificent city filled with so many gems. The service, food, art, history, and outdoorsy-ness of it all makes for the perfect vacay- whether it’s a weekend or week-long.
